Looking for something different for your shower?  We’ve got a whole list of ideas that includes:

 

 

[divider]Beauty & Pamper Shower[/divider]

Ask Guests To:

  • Come In their robes and slippers
  • Focus on relaxation and beauty gifts or think about everyone contributing toward the spa day and a spa basket for the bride.
  • Prepare for lots of girl talk!

What To Serve

  • Chocolate covered strawberries or chocolate fountain
  • Champagne
  • Finger sandwiches

Decorations/Favors

  • Relaxing Music playing in the background
  • Water Feature
  • Send guests home with Pedicure Flip Flops or at home facial kits

Games/Activities

  • Consider hosting at a near by spa or arrange for on site manicures, pedicures, facials and hand and neck massages

 

 

[divider]Wine Sampling Shower[/divider]

Ask Guests To:

  • Come ready to learn about wines from a particular region
  • Bring two bottles of wine or two cheeses.
  • The first can be the brides gift and the others are used for the party!

What To Serve

  • White wines first
  • Then red wines
  • Breads in between to cleanse pallet
  • Of course cheese and grapes
  • Desserts..cheesecake

Decorations/Favors

  • Have several “stations” around the room by using little tables
  • Send your guests home with wine glass charms as favors
  • As a great keepsake create a personalized wine label for the bride and groom to be
  • Have ice buckets to chill wine if necessary

Games/Activities

  • Provide tasting cards that tells your guests the type of wine, the vineyard, the year and a brief description of the wine
  • Who can name the correct type of wine to serve with a particular food

 

 

[divider]Recipe/Kitchen Shower[/divider]

Ask Guests To:

  • Bring one recipe card with a favorite recipe to pass along to the bride. A second card should include the ingredients/advice for a successful marriage to pass to the bride as well. Perhaps ask the guests to return the cards prior to the shower and set up an album ahead of time.
  • Bring gifts to help the bride and groom set up their kitchen

What To Serve

  • Ask guests to bring a favorite appetizer, main course, or dessert to the shower along with copies of the recipe. Have guest vote for their favorite in each category. All the guests will get a chance to sample some great dishes and can take home the recipe!

Decorations/Favors

  • Make centerpieces using utensil holders filled with kitchen gadgets. Give one gadget to each guest to take home as a favor.
  • Mini recipe binders including all the recipes received make great favors as well.

Games/Activities

  • Arrange for a cooking demonstration.
  • Create a basket with a Gourmet recipe and all the ingredients to create. This can be the grand prize for one of the guests or a gift for the bride!

Ask Guests To:

  • Bring an ornament for the couples future Christmas tree
  • Bring their favorite Christmas cookie recipe or have them send it to you in advance so you can create a Christmas cookie recipe book for the couple.
  • Sign a tree skirt with fabric pens as they arrive as a special keepsake for the couple to enjoy for years to come.

What To Serve

  • Hot chocolate and cider
  • Christmas cookies
  • Hot Cinnamon Rolls
  • Pigs in a blanket

Decorations/Favors

  • As guests arrive, ask them to choose an ornament from a Christmas tree. These are favors but a few lucky individuals will find a door prize slip of paper inside their ornament..
  • Lots of white Christmas lights poinsettias, and holly to set the mood!
  • Candy Cane Centerpieces
  • Ornament place card holders
  • Play Christmas music

Games/Activities

  • Guess how many pieces of candy are in the stocking
  • Speed Wrapping
  • Have supplies and allow guests to create hand crafted ornaments for the couple

Ask Guests To:

  • Come ready for a fun festive co-ed shower!
  • Focus on gifts to stock the couples bar and help them to entertain. Great gift ideas include wine (think about years that are special to the couple), glassware, barware, cork screws, wine racks, snifters etc.

What To Serve

  • Martinis/Margaritas/Wine
  • Think about having a “bartender” for the occasion.
  • Lots of finger foods and appetizers

Decorations/Favors

  • Best if held in the evening at someone’s home
  • Create themed stations/bars. Perhaps a martini bar, margarita bar and a wine bar.
  • Think about creating a gift basket that focuses on the couples favorite cocktail. A margarita basket can include tequila, triple sec, mixers, and festive margarita pitchers and glasses. This can serve as a center piece and either the couples gift or the top door prize for a guest.
  • As a great keepsake create a personalized wine or liquor label for the bride and groom to be

Ask Guests To:

  • Focus on entertainment gifts such as movie passes, DVDs, etc. Also consider suggesting gifts inspired by a particular movie or movie star. Let each guest explain their inspiration as the gifts are opened. This will make for great entertainment!
  • Consider asking guests to come as their favorite movie or TV character

What To Serve

  • Concessions stand food like: Popcorn, Nachos, Hot dogs, Soft drinks with straws & lids as well as movie size candy. You can even consider renting concession stand popcorn, hot dog and cotton candy equipment.
  • Try a cake decorated like a box of movie style popcorn

  • Movie posters for decorations
  • Classic movies on DVD make great door prizes
  • Wrap unpopped popcorn in cellophane with cute ribbon as a great favor.

Ask Guests To:

  • Focus on travel gifts such as luggage or gifts inspired from a country or travel destination.

  • Variety of Ethnic foods
  • Choose one dish from your featured areas
  • Consider a cake that features a globe or pictures luggage.

Decorations/Favors

  • Maps and globe decoration theme OR
  • Landmark theme decorations such as Eiffel tower OR
  • Feature planes, trains and or boats OR
  • Feature flags from different countries

Ask Guests To:

  • Bring copies of several of their favorite pictures of the bride and or groom.  Preferably featured together.
  • Bring their creativity

  • Scrap booking tools can be used at the shower and then sent home as favors

Games/Activities

  • Bring enough supplies and extra pictures of the couples and ask each individual to create a scrap book page.

  • Focus on gifts relating to giving the couple “things to do” in the first year of marriage such as: zoo passes, theater tickets, video rental certificates, even a gym membership.

  • Consider concessions stand food like: Popcorn, Nachos, Hot dogs, Soft drinks with straws & lids as well as movie size candy.

Decorations/Favors

  • Display posters featuring activities such as the zoo, the gym, the theater etc.
  • Mini activity kits including a free movie rental and/or day pass to a local attraction make great favors.

Games/Activities

  • Ask each guest to write down their most romantic or fun filled activity shared with their spouse.
