Today we are featuring Coastal Coordinating, a full-service wedding and event planning company based out of St. Augustine, Florida. We spoke with owner, Katy Hurtig, about her love of weddings, why her company is different than other event planning companies and much more. Read on to see if Coastal Coordinating is the right fit for your wedding!

What do you love the very most about what you do? I love working with my clients to make their visions come to life.  Working on the event design is so much fun and it really allows creativity to come to life.

Will you be on-site during the entire reception until the very end? Yes, We are the first vendor to arrive and the last to leave.  We make sure that everything is taken care of from start to finish.

Tell the brides-to-be your best wedding advice. The best advice I can give to any couple is to make sure you hire the right vendors and to hire professionals.  The vendors are the ones that make your event a success and it is important so that you can enjoy all aspects of the day.

What is your most favorite wedding trend right now? Currently I love the golds. I love that it has come back in style.

What do you do that makes you stand out more so than others in your industry?  I think that making myself available to my clients after hours and on weekends helps me stand out from others in the industry.  I pride myself on getting back to my clients quickly.

Will you have an assistant during the wedding? Yes, with all of my wedding planning packages you will get an assistant with the day of coordinator.

How far in advance should a bride to be contact you before the wedding? Currently for Saturdays we are getting booked up a year in advance.  For weekdays and Sundays we are booking up 9 months in advance.

What are some of your specialties? RSVP Management.  This is a service where we will contact anyone that has not RSVP’d.  This takes a lot of stress off of the couple and the awkwardness of contacting their loved ones to get an answer.

How long have your been doing what you do? I have been planning weddings for 10+ years.  I did my first college internship in weddings and have been doing them ever since.
