A St. Patrick’s Day Wedding

March 17, 2015

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone!

Every year brides and grooms from all over the world choose to get married on this international holiday for a number of reasons.  The top reason would probably be because they are Irish, they love their heritage, and they can guarantee a huge party every year on their anniversary!  Premier Bride of Northeast Florida wanted to showcase some of our favorite Irish/Celtic/St. Patrick’s day wedding inspirations that we could find.  We scoured the internet looking for elements you might want to include in your wedding…if you are choosing this theme.  Don’t forget, we never encourage duplication…take these as inspirations and make them your own with your own special twist!  If you don’t feel that  you are creative, don’t worry!  Just make sure you hire professional wedding professionals and they can make it happen….remember creativity and turning visions into reality is what they do for a living!

There is no shortage of professional wedding vendors in Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Amelia Island, Orange Park, the beaches and the surrounding areas…so don’t stress out!

Here is our take on some fun and creative elements for a St. Patty’s Day Wedding….

First and foremost…set the mood with some traditional Irish music!  Have a bagpiper play during the ceremony, it will really set the tone for the rest of the wedding!

Celtic wedding rings?  Yes please!  If you are serious about having a Celtic/Irish/St. Patty’s Day wedding…then you want to wear that heritage loud and proud on your finger!  Think about having the Celtic knot design in your wedding bands!

Irish blessing coins!  How fun would it be to give your guests a keep sake like this?  Even if you don’t have an Irish theme wedding…we love this idea anyway!

Jameson.  It is the official whiskey of the Irish…so this needs to be worked into the wedding somehow…someway!

If your grooms or groomsmen won’t wear kilts…then you can make the ring bearer sport one down the aisle.  We don’t think there is anything cuter then kids in kilts!

The cake is an easy way to represent St. Patty’s Day at your wedding….and there are hundreds of options.  Sometimes the theme does not have to be obvious.  Just playing with the colors of green, gold or a Celtic print pattern is perfect!

St. Patty’s day is all about the “Luck of the Irish” – so a horseshoe is a great way to tie in the theme!

No kilts?  Then think about green printed patterns for the groom and groomsmen!  Pick ties or bowties and don’t worry about them all matching…it makes the pictures a lot more interesting if  not everyone is matchy-matchy!

Get creative with your wedding invitations.  Paper holds limitless possibilities.  Of course going green is a good place to start!

Most brides are still going to opt for a white/ivory wedding dress…but having a sparkle of green is going to tie the whole wedding together! Get creative!

Little posts of 4 leave clovers might be obvious…but they are cute!  And a great take-home for your guests!

Happy St. Patty’s Day everyone and may the luck of the Irish be with you!
