Your honeymoon is your first trip as a married couple and is a big reward to the months of planning your wedding. Every bride and groom want their trip to be memorable and amazing…so here are 6 tips that can help you make your trip everything you want it to be!
#1. Communicate. Start married life started off on the right foot by deciding together what your ideal honeymoon location is. Share your thoughts to make sure you have the same type of activities in mind. Traditionally, the groom usually plans the honeymoon. Many couples do choose to have the groom surprise the bride on the location…if that is the case, make sure you are on the same page as to experience. Decide if you want tropical, international, adventurous, or secluded.
#2 Hire a travel agent. Travel agents don’t cost anything to use their services. They receive compensation from the hotels, resorts and airlines when they book travel. It also does not cost you additional money because travel agents receive discounted rates that the public does not get. Travel agents have to travel to these resorts, so they are really knowledgeable on resorts and hotels. They can really help you make your trip exactly what you are looking for.
#3. But don’t tell each other everything. Let each spouse surprise the other with a special event. Tell them what to wear but not what to expect, and take them by the hand for an unforgettable honeymoon experience.
#4. Think outside the box. There is nothing more romantic than adding a personal touch to your first trip as a married couple. For example, if your first date was dinner and a movie, make sure to pack the DVD of the movie you saw and some microwave popcorn to re-create your date one night.
#5. Indulge. Splurge on an activity that you would not normally do! Make some awesome memories on your honeymoon!
#6. Use your maiden name. There probably won’t be time to switch the name on passports, credit cards, etc. Make sure the name on your ID matches the name on reservations, especially airline tickets.
#7. Shout it from the rooftops. This is your time to shine and celebrate, so don’t be afraid to tell everyone from the bellhop to the strangers in the airport that you’re newlyweds. Share your joy!
