Getting to Know Allison Marshall: The Heart Behind String Theory Music
In the world of wedding music, where emotion meets elegance and timing is everything, Allison Marshall has spent the last 25+ years crafting unforgettable soundscapes for couples across Northeast Florida. As the owner and lead violinist of String Theory Music, Allison brings more than talent to every performance—she brings heart, authenticity, and a deep passion for creating moments that resonate long after the final note fades.
What might surprise many is that despite her 36 years of violin experience, Allison still gets butterflies before every performance.
“It’s a reminder of how much I care about delivering a perfect experience,” she says.
That nervous energy, rather than holding her back, pushes her to give each couple her absolute best. Booking herself regularly for events helps her stay connected—not just to her music, but to the couples and stories she plays for.
When she’s not leading ensembles or crafting wedding playlists, Allison is all about family life, homeschooling her daughters, and enjoying the magic of Florida’s theme parks. And yes—she still plays violin for fun.
“Playing just for myself recharges my soul,” she shares.
As a small business owner, Allison thrives in cozy coffee shops where she can brainstorm ideas, meet clients, and sip something amazing. Her current favorite?
Sippers Coffee off Gate Parkway – a warm, inviting spot for productivity and community
Spring Park Coffee in Green Cove Springs – perfect for a post-coffee riverside walk
And she’s got Brew Five Points in her sights as her next go-to
If you’re ever in those neighborhoods, you might just spot her there—laptop open, music notes nearby, and a perfectly brewed latte in hand.
Ask Allison what song puts her in a good mood and she’ll tell you—she can’t choose just one.
“Music moves me too deeply for that!” she laughs.
From Frank Sinatra’s swing to Norah Jones’ jazzy vocals to Bridgerton-style string arrangements, her musical mood shifts with each moment. And that’s exactly what makes her wedding performances so magical—she connects deeply with every piece she plays.
Among the many weddings she’s worked, one night stands out: a candlelit dinner at 9 Aviles in St. Augustine, where her quartet played Etta James’ “At Last.”
“Couples started rising from their tables, slow dancing under the soft glow of candlelight. It felt timeless, like the music wove everyone’s love stories together in that one moment.”
It’s memories like these that fuel her love for live music—and why so many couples trust her to be part of the most important day of their lives.
Whether she’s composing custom string arrangements or watching guests dance to classics at cocktail hour, Allison Marshall is more than a musician—she’s a storyteller. And with String Theory Music, every wedding becomes a symphony of love, emotion, and unforgettable moments.
