Wedding Postponed – COVID 19

Has COVID 19 Affected Your Wedding?

Don’t feel alone!  It is estimated that over 350,000 weddings in the USA alone have postponed or been affected due to COVID 19.  Now that the state of Florida is on shut down and weddings are not options for the next 30 days at least, here are some helpful tips to get you down the aisle.

Wedding Planner

First, make sure you reach out to your wedding coordinator.  If you are not working with a wedding coordinator, you might want to consider hiring one during this time.  This is what they do…and they can help you to circumnavigate all of your wedding vendors, guests and time lines to a new date.  If you don’t have a wedding planner then make sure you contact your venue and discuss options.

Wedding Venue Tips

Second, Talk to your venue about alternative dates.  Be patient.  Every single venue is dealing with a lot of upset couples right now.  Everyone is scrambling for new dates.  Write down several dates that work for you and your fiancé.  Many venues are requiring couples to rebook a date in 2020 so keep that in mind.  Another option to consider is picking a Friday, Sunday or a week day.  In Northeast Florida, our busiest wedding months of the year or October and November, so many of the Saturdays are already filled up.  Remember that all of your other vendors have to be available on the rescheduled wedding date too…so picking a non-popular day/date is in your best interest.
