Brides, remember that the DJ is your personal emcee of your event…they are going to set the tone for your wedding so please, please, please don’t trust a DJ…trust as wedding DJ.

Thankfully, finding a wedding DJ in Jacksonville or a wedding DJ in St. Augustine is easy if you know where to look.  And since you are on you are in the right place.

Here are some things to think about when interviewing or selecting the right DJ for your wedding;

Couples traditionally engage disc jockeys for their ability to provide a wide variety of music at a price that fits their budget. All DJ’s can play all of your favorite songs, performed by the original artists and, because DJs work with prerecorded music, your entertainment is continuous even during breaks.

A veteran wedding DJ not only plays the music, but also acts as an emcee for the event, smoothly introducing your wedding party (pronouncing all of the names correctly), arranging to have champagne poured before the toast, announcing the cake-cutting and a myriad of other milestone moments throughout the reception. Needless to say, the DJ will be an important part of your celebration, which is why you should take great care to hire a disk jockey with a personality and style you like!  Don’t trust and amateur!

  Decide in advance how much you would like your DJ to say and how interactive you would like him to be with the audience. Of course, much of this will depend on the type of celebration you are planning. An energetic, out-on-the-dance-floor all-night reception will require a different type of interaction than a sophisticated, more demure event. While not required, providing refreshments for your entertainer is a great way to keep her happy and energetic while she is working hard to make your reception a dancing success.

Lastly, make sure the contract covers all of the bases: the day, date and time of the event; address of the site; number of hours covered; overtime cost; total cost; and payment arrangements.
